Question: Hello, I just had a gallblader ultra sound done. I need help to understand the results

CLINICAL INDICATION: Right upper quadrant pain

TECHNIQUE: Routine

PREVIOUS EXAMINATION: 6/4/2014

FINDINGS: No intraluminal gallstones are noted. There is sludge noted
within the gallbladder lumen. Gallbladder wall is normal in thickness.
The extrahepatic biliary system is within normal limits.

Liver is normal in size and echogenicity. Focal lesions are detected.
Portal venous flow appears normal. No fluid is noted within Morrison's
pouch.

Pancreas is normal in size and echogenicity. No focal lesions are
detected.

IMPRESSION:
1. Small volume of sludge is noted within the gallbladder lumen. A
similar finding was present on the previous examination.
2. The liver and pancreas appear sonographically unremarkable.

Hi.

Are you sure it says: focal lesions are detected in liver? this should be investigated if true, but everything else seems to be fine. Sludge is seen in gallbladder. This is common and it means that there are no stones but more like sand which in some people may cause pain in area of gallbladder and pancreatitis. So if you have such pain, you would have benefits from gallbladder removal. So consult your doctor about it.
