Had Implant Fitted. Opted For Abortion At 8 Week Pregnancy. Feeling Constipated And Pressure In Stomach. Any Advise?

Question: Hi,
I have had a nightmear with contraception..... back at the begining of the year i decided to have the XXXXXXX coil for a more long term method of contraception but after many attempts my doc was unable to fit it, she suggested the implant. I had the implant fitted because my periods were all over the place with the pill. My partner and I had only been together a short while and have 2 gorgeous little girls between us so obviously not planning to have a baby at that time. Basically I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant 2 months after having the implant fitted. Weather I conceived before or after the implant was fitted im not sure, I was taking the pill up until the implant was fitted.
Sadly to say we opted for an abortion.... (which is much regreted now) I was 9 and a half weeks pregnant when the termination took place and it was the most horrible experience of my life and if i could turn the clocks back i would keep our baby and i would have been 7 months pregnant by now.
I managed to get the XXXXXXX coil fitted via anisetic in my cervix after the termination, and am feeling very bloated most of the time and constipated with a constant pressure on my stomach , it feels almost like there is a blockage inside me. I am worried that the coil may have fallen out of place or if just doesnt agree with me. Or even that i might be over thinking things because of what I have done. any advise would be much appreciated.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The mirena coil is fitted into the uterine cavity and is not likely to reach inside the abdominal cavity causing any obstruction unless it perforates the uterus.
The symptoms you are having are likely to be due to stress and anxiety related to the insertion. To know that your coil is well in place, you can check the thread in your vagina.
You can take foods that can act as laxatives to help with your symptoms: Prunes, figs, Psyllium husk, shredded wheat, flaxseed (oil), Senna, Cascara sagrada, Aloe vera juice, Dandelion root, Molasses, Liquorice, etc.
Hope this answers your query. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Wishing you good health.
