Question: For my wife. Dizziness has been a problem for several months. Can a change in thyroid medicine dosage cause dizziness? Synthroid dosage reduced from 137mcg to 112mcg per day. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Possible osteoarthritis of cervical spine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I don't think that changes in synthroid dosage, lowering the dosage can cause dizziness.
I think this situation is possibly caused by osteoarthritis, possibly the disease has affected the cervical spine. She may need to do a x-ray of cervical spine.
If the cervical spine is in normal conditions then the dizziness may be related to inner ear problems and she may need to visit an ENT doctor.
Taking betahistine can help cope with dizziness.

Hope I have answered the question.
