Brief Answer:
only if severe inflammation was present

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Clobetasol is a steroid cream that is used in lichen sclerosus which is a type of inflammatory/irritation disorder that affects the vagina..
If this is the cause or contributing to your vaginal dryness then it is appropriate.

In post menopausal women, vaginal dryness is most commonly due to atrophic vaginitis (thinning and inflammation of the vaginal areas). This is most usually treated with lubricants and topical estrogen.
If your doctor noted severe inflammation in the vaginal region, this may be the reason for the prescription.

It would be best to find out the exact diagnosis and reason for the clobetasol

Summary : (1) not commonly used for vaginal dryness unless there is severe inflammation present
