Question: Hi im seeing a physio and receiving accupuncture. He say i have a injury in my scalenes in my neck.. Ive been really unwell for 3 months now. Is it possible that these are pressing on nerves in my neck when they tighten and are causing strange tightening sensations in my head. I have been really dizzy also. Kind of feel like my head is really top heavy and down the sides of my face feel quite strange qith pressure etc... Ive had four treatment now and im slightly better however this dizziness is still there. Im wondering would pregablin my gp prescribed help with getting my balance back. Ive had all mri etc to rull out ither stuff but physio said my injury would not have been detected by mri.. If you could advise me please i would be grateful.

Brief Answer: May stop pregabalin Detailed Answer: Hello Madam, I have read your symptoms and it looks to me that you are having nerve compression in neck due to disc herniation. This can also cause compression of blood supply of brain and so you have those dizziness episodes. If you are getting relief in pain from physiotherapy then you should continue with this. I would suggest you to stop taking pregabalin as this drug causes heaviness in head and dizziness. Consult your doctor before stopping medicine. I would also recommend you following: 1. Wear a soft cervical collar and also start neck muscle strengthening exercises. 2. Intermittent cervical traction helps in dizziness and pain. 3. Methylcobal tablet is good for nerve health. Take one tablet daily. 4. Take tablet stugeron if giddiness is not relieved. I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you want to ask anything else. Thanks and take care.

Brief Answer: Vitamin b 12 is methylcobal Detailed Answer: Hello, Yes Methylcobal is vitamin B12 . It will strengthen the nerve and help in dizziness too. Along with neck exercise traction is helpful. infact it is most effective physiotherapy in your problems. In it your neck is pulled with 5 to 7 pounds weight. This will increase gap between bone and nerve pressure is released. If you have not started pregabalin till now then you can start it. Take it in night so dizziness will not be there. I will try to explain you disc herniation. Disc are shock observer cushion like structures present between neck bones and they get displaced in many patients and compresses nerve. There are many causes like 1. trauma 2.weak disc since birth 3.working with keeping your neck in same position. 4.Some time there is no obvious cause. Let me know if you have any other query. Thanks and take care.
