Does Low Potassium Levels In Blood Cause Muscle Weakness?
Question: I was recently diagnosed with low potassium and have been on pottasium supplements for a month now, I have also been trying to eat food high in potassium mostly bannanas but I still feel tired and off balance some days, is it because I need to eat more than two bannanas a day plus the supplement?
I am also dealing with being anxious with movement which started about the same time, I am not sure if is because of the low potassium or not?

Brief Answer:
Low potassium leads to muscle weakness .
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM.
Low potassium leads to weakness in muscles. It happens due to inadequate diet or diuretic medication.
Yes, 'anxiety with movement' is also due to it.
You need to eat a good fruit and green diet. I have given a list of foods rich in potassium below--
Banana(which your already taking), along with
Avocado, Spinach, Sweet potato, Coconut Water, Yogurt, White Beans.
Supplements should be stopped when levels come to normal. Very high potassium is equally harmful.
Let me know if you've any further queries
