Brief Answer:
Kegel exercises help with frequent bathroom trips at night.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Kegel exercises improve the strength of pelvic muscles. They do help in reducing the number of bathroom trips at night.

You first identify which muscles to contract. while urinating try to stop the flow. These are the muscles you should contract during Kegel exercises. Another way to find those muscles is try to control gas. The muscles you contract to control gas are the muscles to be targeted for exercises.

To begin with start doing these exercises while lying down. Pass urine and keep bladder empty before starting the exercises. Slowly contract pelvic muscles for a count of three and relax them for a count of three. Graduallyyou can-increase the duration to count of 5. Initially do them as a set of 5 contractions three times daily.

Gradually you increase the exercises to three sets of 10 contractions each. Don't contract lower abdominal or thigh muscles while exercising.

Once you know which muscles to contract you can do these exercises while sitting too.
I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama
