Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that Imdur is a drug which is used to treat coronary artery disease.

Its main action is the vessel dilation.

Your doctor has probably prescribed this drug, after having suspicions of possible coronary artery disease (myocardial ischemia).

Do you have any cardiovascular risk factors:

-Do you suffer from arterial hypertension or diabetes?
-Do you smoke or drink alcohol?
-Are you overweight?

I would like to review your ECG reports if you can upload it for me to review and give a second professional opinion.

Did you perform a cardiac stress test? This would be a more specific test than a simple ECG for the detection of possibly coronary artery disease.

Hope to have clarified some of your uncertainties.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information.

As your resting ECG and cardiac stress test have resulted normal, there is no reason to believe that you suffer from coronary artery disease.

I would like to review your uploaded your test reports if your can upload them for a second professional opinion. Your symptoms are not typical of coronary artery disease.

Coming to this point, I would recommend performing one of the above mentioned tests to investigate for coronary artery disease:

1- Coronary angio CT scan
2- Cardiolite (myocardial perfusion stress test).

Coronary angiography would be the golden standard procedure for the evaluation of the blood flow in coronary arteries, but this is an invasive procedure and should be performed when high suspicions of coronary artery disease are raised in the previous performed tests.

I would also advise performing other tests to investigate for other causes of chest pain other than coronary artery disease, which may be the cause of your symptoms:

- a chest X ray study
- lab blood tests: complete blood count, inflammation tests, blood electrolytes, liver and kidney functiont tests
- abdominal ultrasound

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
