Brief Answer:
Safe. But behavioral therapy is very important to be able to deal with cond

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I am sorry to know about her condition. But autism (now merged under a single entity called Autism spectrum disorders or ASD) can be hard to deal with. It is lifelong and may be frequently associated with mental health ailments like OCD. The mainstay of treatment should be behavioral. Cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy play a major role. Medicines can be given if needed. Ativan 1 mg daily can be given safely but I would insist you to try the other modalities as well.

Regards
