Brief Answer:
please be more specific

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Please tell in detail about the health problems being currently faced by your daughter, so that i can be in a position to relate them to those solvents.

Lacquer is known to cause dermatitis by skin contact, other side effect includes dizziness, nausea, fatigue (on smaller exposure) and kidney & brain damage and coma (on prolonged exposure).

Waiting for your reply.

No skin contract, just the heavy odors of the inks and especially the lacquer they put on the magazine covers. Her exposure is not where the printing but in the office where smells seep in. Nausea, fatigue and some low magnesium and potassium levels and now some kidneys problems. She no longer woks there because of missing work due to illness. Extremely healthy until this job.

Brief Answer:
could be due to it

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The symtoms and problems which you have mentioned occurs more commonly due to solvent poisoning. They are common to all solvents.

Poisoning by inhalation route is known to cause this.

Since now she has left the job and there won't be exposure the condition should improve gradually. The time taken to improve depends on extent of internal organ damaged.

Low magnesium and potassium levels could be due to kidney damage.

Hope I have answered your query. If no further queries then you may close the discussion and rate the response.
