Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

Barrett's esophagus is a complication of long term acid reflux.
Barrett's esophagus by itself does not cause any burning sensation. But the predisposing factor - the acid reflux can cause burning sensation originating from the upper abdomen and going up in the center of the chest.

If zantac and omeprazole do not provide relief, you can get an upper GI endoscopy done to look inside for other causes.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K

Brief Answer:
Answer given below

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The doctor would have done biopsy earlier. Barrett's esophagus is diagnosed only after doing biopsy.
So the doctor would not be repeating the biopsy.
Yes omeprazole and zantac keep decrease the episode of reflux of acid contents from the stomach.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
