Question: I take a lot of supplements. I have been wondering if any of them are in conflict with one another or are a gross duplication of each other. The supplements are as follows: Does it matter the time of day to take them?

D-3 1000 IU Vitamin D
400IU Vit E
Centrium Silver Daily Vit.
250mg Magnesium
Triple Strength Osteo-Bi-Flex Gluocosamine/Chondrotin
1000mcg Vit B 12
100mg Pycnogenol

Brief Answer:
When to take supplements ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read carefully your concern.

Most all of your supplements can be taken with your breakfast meal. This includes your daily multivitamin, Vit B complex, Vitamin E, in addition to others. Not only will this help to start your day off right, but the breakfast meal is often a convenient time to remember to take your vitamins, as many of us consume our morning meal in our homes.

Vitamin D supplement is best absorbed when taken with food containing fat, and that’s the largest meal of the day for most people ( lunch).

Calcium supplements can be taken with dinner, or hours after dinner before bed.

Tamsulosin is usually taken once a day, approximately 30 minutes after a meal. It doesn't interact with Vitamins.

Glucosamine/chondroitin is suggested to take with meals to prevent an upset stomach. It does not interact with Vitamins.

Hope the information will help.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

The answer was very helpful and I have changed my order of taking to conform to your answer. However you did not state best time to take the Pycnogenol and if it can be taken any time. I know I am supposed to take it with a meal. Does it matter if it is taken with the other vitamins and what time of day is it best taken.

Brief Answer:
About pycnogenol;

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back Dear !

About pycnogenol, studies have used twice daily dosing (dividing the daily total into two even doses to be taken with breakfast and dinner) as well as once daily dosing with breakfast, both appear effective and no comparative studies have been conducted to see which is better.

Although it is usually recommended to be taken with meals out of prudence, this does not appear to be an absolute requirement.

It does not interfere with the other vitamins.

Will be a pleasure to help you further in the future.
Wish you good health.
