Question: I have just been diagnosed with Arterial Fibrillation. I also had a PFO closure in February 2010. Will the PFO closure stop me from being considered for cardioversion?

Brief Answer:
Further exams are needed first.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

PFO closure won't stop you from being considered for cardioversion. However, first, I should ask to run:
- cardiac echo: to evaluate the status of heart cameras, especially, when it comes to the atriums dimension and morphology.
- thyroid function tests: to evaluate the status of thyroid gland prior to cardioversion.

Hope it helped!

Thank you for your answer - I have already had a cardiac echo and all seems well.
I know this isn't the forum to ask this but I don't have a contact email or any other way of asking queries. I noticed on my bank statement that I have been charged twice on the same day for this query. I would be very grateful if you could you please look into this and sort it out or alternatively let me know who to contact.
