Question: I have been taking Garcinia Cambogia for a month and woke up one morning and found my toe was hurting. After a few days my toe joint was swollen. could Garcinia Cambogia cause this. I have recently stopped taking it and still have discomfort. Also, is there an OTC drug besides NSAIDS that could help. I can't afford to go to a doctor.

Brief Answer: This is not due to gercinia Detailed Answer: Hello, I want to assure you that Garsinia does not cause such joint pain. If it is a allergic reaction then it should have happen with in 24 to 48 hours. If you are having joint pain after one month then i do not think that Garsinia is cause. I think your joint pain can be due to low calcium in body, or can be due to arthritis. I would suggest you to take paracetamol if you do not want to take NSAID. Try to change your foot wear and avoid prolong standing. Also use hot water fomentation and Diclofenac ointment. If your pain improves then its ok other wise get x ray of your foot to make sure if there is any thing abnormal with bone. Let me know if i missed some thing. Feel free to ask any followup questions. Thanks and take care.

Brief Answer: Every toe pain is not GOUT Detailed Answer: Hello, I agree with you that Gout present as great toe pain but it should be associated with abnormal uric acid level. So it will be too early to call it Gout. I would suggest you to take Brufen as there is no OTC drug for Gout except NSAID. Most effective other drug for acute pain is colchicine . If your pain is very severe and your toe is red, warm and swollen then I think you should take Brufen for pain relief. It is a NSAID though but relatively safe. If your pain increases then it will be better to show it to a doctor. Let me know if you have any other query. Thanks and take care.
