Respected ma'am
The creator in no way help controlling your sugar. In fact use of statins may be associated with higher risk of future diabetes.
The possible reason would be the adherence to current ACC recommendation which prefers lowering LDL. Cholesterol by 50% in high risk individuals, which all diabetics are. These guidelines do not set any goal.
Hope that helps. Feel free to discuss further.

Detailed Answer:
Respected Ma'm
I am not a naturopathist but I can suggest you general life style modification which are applicable to diabetics as per English system of medicine.
1. Try to do daily exercise. This should be initially supervised. Brisk walk at a pace of ~7 Km/ hour should be the aim with total duration of ~ 45 minutes per day. Beside you can do swimming or play badminton or lawn tennis.
2. Maintain ideal body weight (preferably a body mass index of ~ 23). Body mass index is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters again divided by height in meters.
3. Avoid fatty fried foods. Avoid carbohydrates with high glycemic index like potatoes, rice, corn flakes, white bread etc.
4. Eat variety of vegetables, legumes, salads and fruits after consulting your dietitian.
5. Take lesser salt in your preparations and avoid table salt.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
