Brief Answer:
if for low levels- till levels normal, if for bone loss- may be consistentl

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The calcium and calcitriol (vitamin d) would normally be prescribed if levels of both or one of these is low.
It is sometimes also suggested if the bone density is low (eg osteoporosis).

If they have been given because you have low levels then you should take until a retest shows that your levels have returned to normal though some small amount of supplements may still be needed to make sure they stay that way.

If they were given because of low bone density, then it is likely that you have to take them for the long term, continuously to prevent any further bone loss if possible.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
