Posted on Fri, 25 Jul 2014
Question: I have been taking half of 5mg amlodipine sandoz for the past 17 days. I have started feeling nausea and fatigue also indigestion and bloated stomach for the past few days. And a heavy head.
I also take 100mg sertraline, 40mg micardis and 10/40mg vytorin.
Is this because of the new tablet amlodipine ?

Brief Answer:
Possibly not by Amlodipine..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

From your clinical presentation the symptoms may not be due to half the dose of Amlodipone. I usually prescribe to my patients in my clinic , I never seen such . Amlodipone is very well tolerated drug, only adverse effect I have seen commonly in my clinic is Ankle edema.

But I assume Those gastric symptoms propably due to calcium tablets in your list or else due to gastritis caused by your food habbits.

Try any PPI like omeprazole or Pantaprazole on empty stomach as available thru OTC. If symptoms still persists better consult your treating physician.
