Does Alprazolam Help Cure Anxiety?
Question: Can taking alprazolam relieve patient from anxiety and obsession?

I have read your question and it is regarding the role of alprazolam in anxiety and obessession.
I would like to tell you that aplrazolam is a benzodiazapine which helps in handling anxiety and obessession to an extent. But it is not the medication that will take care of its eradication at the root level. For the managemnt of anxiety and obessession we have proper medicines called anti anxiety drugs, like SSRI ect.
I usually give alprazolam or clonazepam or such drugs on sos basis along with the main drug.
Drugs (like alprazolam) when used alone bring -dependence due to development of tolerance. So the patient will need to take more amount with passing time. And can have withdrawal if they are stopped.
So, alprazolam is recommended as an SoS drug along with the main drug which will help cure the illness and bring relief.
