Do Multiple Dog Bites On Different Occasions That Occurred In Childhood Require Treatment?

Question: Hi, My question may be weird, when I was a kid I had got bitten by Dogs on multiple occasions (I remember at least 3 instances). I can clearly tell that none of them were vaccinated. On the first one I remember I was a very small kid and a stray dog attacked me and pierced a tooth in my thigh, I hid this instance from my parents out of fear. On another instance it was my cousins dog, on this occasion the doctor only gave me a tetanus shot. on another instance it was my own pet bit me on the lip when I tried to cuddle him. I am 27 years now. Should I take any treatment. All these instances were in my childhood when I was probably too young to understand the consequences. Please advice what should I do now.

Brief Answer:
There is nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

If a person is bitten by rabid dog, the infection spreads quickly and symptoms within a few days.

Most probably you were bitten by healthy non-rabid dogs. That is why no symptoms appeared. So no prevention is needed.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
