Brief Answer: This may be IBS / Polyp Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for a detailed history. Noted every word of it. To answer your question: Yes the males and in fact all have anal sphincter. The symptoms you are getting are more in favor of constipation with resultant complication. It becomes a vicious cycle- meaning you get one problem , which leads to another and another and the problems continue on. For you to get out of this problem, I would suggest you the following and will definitely help you a lot. First of all Consult a Gastroinetstinal Surgeon. Get your self checked by manual examination done by him to make sure how much your sphincter is working,. Are there associated problems like a fissure/ piles/ polyp and so on. Id he advises , please go for colonoscopy, as this is necessary to see the changes in the large bowel and may find the causative reason up there. Since you are allergic to cats , dust and pollen, it is possible that you may be suffering from Irritable bowel Syndrome in this form. Till you get an appointment, Have liquid cremaffin plus 1 to 2 teaspoonful at bedtime, Sit in a water-tub with warm water. (Sitz bath)Avoid all foods and beverages which you know increase your problem. Do not worry , your problem is treatable. Your sphincter is NOT damaged , as one will loose a control over holding stool.

Brief Answer: No need of any surgery . Detailed Answer: No surgery is required at all at this point of time. Just relax. Surgeon also examines a patient , not that he performs surgery only. His advise is the most important as he is trained to get a diagnosis in such cases.
