Posted on Tue, 1 Apr 2014
Question: A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with non parkinsons tremors. I was given Requip 4 mg in the morning to reduce the tremors. I also take 8mg Requip at night for severe restless leg syndrome. Could my tremors becoming worse be a symptom of parkinsons disease. What is the next treatment to reduce the tremors

Brief Answer: No, Non-Parkinson tremors could also get worse. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for posting your query. I have noted your symptoms and your current medications. First of all, I would like to reassure you that worsening of tremors does not mean it is Parkinson's disease (PD), as non parkinson tremors can also worsen. Symptoms of PD would include, in addition to tremors, rigidity of arms/legs, slowness of movements, and loss of balance. Other medications to reduce the tremors include beta blockers (propranolol), trihexiphenidyl and botox injections. I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
