Question: So I think I may be pregnant I have many of the symptoms including darkining areola and when I use pre test all come negative or sometime a light positive but if I use whole blood I get a positive right away everytime. I've been testing for about 4 or 5 days with pee and just started the blood thing yesterday I was using meth I stopped when I suspected I may be pregnant and I also have a uti. Could something be causing a false test result? I use equate early result.

Brief Answer:
See OBG specialist for quantitative hCG measuring and USG abdomen and pelvis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query and do understand your concern.
It is difficult to diagnose pregnancy with only symptoms. Urine pregnancy test kit are highly accurate and accuracy increase when done after a week of missed period and with morning sample of urine.
So kindly repeat it with morning sample and after at least a week after missed period. If it still comes to be negative or inconclusive I would suggest you to see OBG specialist for examination and certain investigation to confirm diagnosis, like A quantitative blood test which measures the exact amount of hCG in the blood and ultrasound abdomen and pelvis. You also go for urine routine test for UTI and treatment will be given based on the investigation result.
Meanwhile take plenty of fluids, cranberry juices will be beneficial in UTI and avoid meth.
Hope this helps.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Blood investigation which have done is qualitative one, better will be quantitative measurement of hCG

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As mentioned in the earlier post, the blood test which you have done is qualitative test, just provides information about the presence and absence of hCG. But quantitative estimation of hCG has more value.

Hence I ask you to go for this.

Hope this helps you.
Take care
