Child Cleated In The Stomach During A Soccer. Got Bruised Which Swelled And Had Knots And Discolouration. Concern?
Question: my son was cleated in the stomach during a soccer game last week...he got a bad bruise which swelled and there was a soft spongy knot. today, a week later, there is still some discoloration but the knot is now very hard. Is there reason for concern?

This is probably a local hematoma at that site.
There is no major concern.
Apply ice packs to the local area and apply thrombophob gel to the local area thrice daily.
For pain give him acetaminophen.
If the swelling increases get an ultrasound done.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
