Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

For lowering the cholesterol levels, you need a low-saturated fat, low-cholesterol diet. This includes avoiding diet XXXXXXX in fats and saturated fatty acids like XXXXXXX fried snacks and sweets, cream, butter, ghee, mayonnaise, shrimps, liver, sausages, hamburgers, red meats, full cream milk, condensed milk, all full fat cheeses, fast foods, coconut oil and palm oil. You should use safflower, corn, soybean, cottonseed, sesame, sunflower oils or olive or canola oil for cooking foods as these are polyunsaturated fatty acids. Eat more of fruits and vegetables and you can take skinned chicken, free milk and yogurt and low fat cheese.

For uric acid stones, cut down the protein especially purine content in foods. Foods that need to be avoided are anchovies, sardines, herring, mackerel, scallops, gravy, red meat and meat products. Instead take vegetables, fruits, whole grains and tofu.

In asthma patients, it is important that the diet to be taken is light and balanced. Rice, bananas, urad, urad-dal, ladies fingers and certain other foods are known to precipitate attacks of asthma and hence they can be avoided. Similarly spicy and fried things, chutnies, pickles, sweets, curd and food containing artificial preservatives should be avoided. Oils XXXXXXX in omega 3 fatty acids are good to take.
