Brief Answer:
No! What are your numbers?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Stress is not known to cause an increase in ALT levels. I will suggest that you report the numbers to me for independent review and more insights. If you have previous test results, kindly communicate them to me as well. Are you by any chance on any medications or do you drink alcohol?

I hope to hear back from you. I wish you well.

Hello,

I had a LFP done two weeks ago. I am 5'4 and 205 pounds. All other test came back within normal range inclyding my AST which was 24. 5 days ago my doctor restested my ALT levels and they went down to 37. Two days later when my doctor was checking my potassium, he rechecked my ALT and it popped back up to 46.

Two weeks ago when he told me my ALT was high i completely stopped taking Excedrine (an over the counter headache med that has tylenol in it), I stopped eating dairy and meat (still eating fish), and cut alcohol completely.

My normal alcohol habits are one day a week of 4-6 pints of craft beer usually 3-4 times per month. Sometimes during vacation I will drink more. Sometimes when there arent a lot of outings planned I will skip some weeks.

I have no pains aside from a sore ripcage that my doctor thinks is because of poor posture. My urine is clear. My cholesterol is high (256 and will be rechecked in 3 months. )

No medications aside from 1-1.5 mg of lorazapan. My doctor told me to change my diet and exercise 200 minutes per week and we will redo the lipid test in three months after the changes have been implimented.

Brief Answer:
This is a good plan!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Given your weight, there is a possibility of deposits of fats in the liver which might explain this. His plan is appropriate and I suggest you continue with this.

I wish you well.
