Penicillin and related antibiotics (beta-lactams) cannot cure chlamydia; other antibiotics can.

The usual treatment for chlamydia is antibiotics, including tetracyclines, azithromycin, or erythromycin.

Antibiotic treatment, if taken exactly as directed, normally cures chlamydia infections. If antibiotics are not taken properly, the infection will not be cured.
