Brief Answer:
Wait for 15 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concerns about small follicles.

You are right. Periods are likely to be delayed. But taking Primolut now will disrupt hormonal balance of the body.

There fore I suggest you wait till March 25 and repeat a follicular growth scan. Then you can decide om taking Primolut based on follicle size.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

How much of primolut n and for how many days is it to be taken. My dr has asked me to check the follicle growth after 4 days. Can i take metformin slong with clomid? When can metformin be started. Clomid did not work in the last 2 cycles can it be taken again or is there any alternative. Am already 33yrs

Brief Answer:
You can opt for IVF

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Keeping in mind that clomid didnt work, it is better to start gonadotrophin injections this time along with clomid.

Metformin can be started now 2 times a day. It can be taken along with clomid. Talk to your treating doctor before starting it.

Since you are 33, you can keep an option of going ahead with IVF ( test tube baby) also. This is better alternative.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Ovulation is possibly late

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Possibly ovulation is going to be late considering your delayed periods.

Hence I had suggested you to wait before taking primolut. Repeat an ultrasound scan on March 25 and see if follicles are growing.

Metformin can be taken till you conceived. You can take it along with primolut. Promolut is taken twice a day for 5 days.

You have good chance of conception if follicles growth by 25th.

Let me know if you need any more clarifications.

Hello dr on 15th of march i had some spotting and lower abdominal pain ehich lasted till 17th of march. I went to another dr (not my usual dr) on 16th ie next day who checked on ultrasound and said there was 1 follicle and a triple line endometrium. On 17th again i did an ultrasound and another radiologist said there were small 8 mm follicles and ed is 8 mm Which was the same as of the earlirr follicle stuy. My question is what should we conclude from both ultrasounds ? Why did i get spotting is it possible that the follicle which was seen on 16th ruputured ? Also we hadcontact on 17th and 18th will conception take place ? Now my dr had asked me to take regulate for 5 days starting frm 20th of mrch since my follicular studies had shown small follicles. Should i wait or tke the tablet to induce a period? I had started on glycomet 500 mg twice a day but due to side effects of vomiting and stomach pain stopped.can i start taking the tablets now after3 days of stopping.

Brief Answer:
You can continue metformin

Detailed Answer:
Hi

There is conflicting report in both ultrasound scans . It is better you get ultrasound scan in an IVF centre next time as they are professional in this.

You can conceive if ovulation was around 16 to 18th which is difficult to be concluded by ultrasound scan. Please get next ultrasound scan from IVF centre in your city.

You can continue metformin even after stopping for 3 days.

Brief Answer:
Spotting was due to ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hi

dont take regulate now.

The spotting was probably due to ovulation. There is spotting even in ovulation.

Though ovulation cannot occur from 8mm follicle, I doubt of scan reports are right.

Would conception take place if there was contact 2 days after the ovulation spotting. What doesvtriple line endometrium indicate. how long should i wait now to start regulate.
Am currently on glycomet 500 mg twice a day, APCOD twice a day and ecosprin 75 mg.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Mahesh Koregol (21 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Good endometrium.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Conception can take place if you have had contact 2 days after ovulation as in this situation it is difficult to predict ovulation due to conflicting report.

Triple line endometrium means the good endometrium which is ready for implantation of the embryo.

Continue the medicines you are taking. Wait for 15 days before starting regulate.
