Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

Fluanxol is flupenthixol which acts by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. This creates an iatrogenic Parkinson like symptoms. This is due to dopamine block in the basal ganglia.

A smart solution for this is to use the newer atypical antipsychotics like clozapine/ quitiepin/ mirtrazapine which are devoid of these side effects. They act on different set of receptors and do not cause parkinsonian side effects.

Rules of the website prevent me from prescribing a particular drug.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.

Thank you,

I was hoping that, even if you can't prescribe, you can let me know what atypical antipsychotic is available in a long lasting injectable.

I am not interested in haloperidol or olanzipine, but in something which is a close match for fluanxol...

Thanks,

XXXXX

Dear XXXXX,

Atypical antipsychotics are available in oral form currently. You can go for clozapine, quitiepine, mirtrazapine. These are the generic names. You can have a prescription taken from a local psychiatrist from your country.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
