Question: Last night I came home and had blood, rather dark in my underwear that had to be thrown out. It was not a dripping, it was like it all came out at once. I don't have any pain and it has not reocurred. I feel fine. I had a colonoscopy this year and it showed othing wrong. I did have a dificult day yesterday with constipation. What do I do? Do I need to call my Dr.? I'm a 68 year old women.

Brief Answer:
may be due to constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM,

I can understand your concerns.

I do not there is any urgency to call doctor now.
But it is always a good idea to get examined by your doctor.
Visit emergency room if anal bleeding is:

Continuous or heavy
Accompanied by severe abdominal pain or cramping
Accompanied by anal pain
Recurrent.

At present, I think it could be due to constipation.
Avoid constipation. Eat fibrous foods. Drink plenty of water. Avoid fatty and junk food.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Take care.

If it is vaginal, what could it be? I still have not had another drop of blood. I have had breast cancer but that was 8 years ago and I have been given a clean XXXXXXX of health. I have had a colonoscoy last year, it was fine, I get a yearly pap test, it was fine. I'm just feeling it was out of my vagina. I have had incident of sweating lately and I do have lower backpain, but I have had that for years.
If it is from my vagina what could it be

Brief Answer:
polyp or cervical erosions.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Sorry for late response.

Vaginal bleeding usually occurs as dripping. It is not a single episode of bleeding.

Anyhow, if we consider it to be a vaginal pathology, it can be a polyp or cervical erosion.

Kindly consult your Gynecologist for internal examination to rule out the local vaginal cause

Hope this helps.
Take care..
