Can STD Be Contracted Through Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 26 May 2015
Question: I have received oral sex from 2 separate prostitutes, one the end of February and one in the beginning of April. I've been worried that I may have caught something ever since. Last weekend my scrotum started to turn a pinkish color, have a sunburn/razorburn feel, and increase in temperature. I've noticed it seems to burn worse after showers. The last 3 days I have been putting Lamisil on my scrotum and the burning subsides whenever I put the cream on it. I notice when I think about it, it tends to burn more than when I don't think about it. I am not sure if it is mental or physical or STD or Fungal, or what? Please advise

I have uploaded a photo of the area

I stay in hotel/motels frequently and remember toweling myself off rather rough on Saturday, so it is possible that may be what caused the irritation, Like I said it feels like a sunburn/razorburn on my scrotum. What scares me is the unprotected oral sex I received, I'm concerned it may be an STD/STI of some sort, and have had anxiety about it ever since.

When you say Scrotal Dermatitis, is that medical term for rub burn, or what exactly does that mean, and should I continue using the Lamisal?

Brief Answer:
Likely scrotal dermatitis due to friction or irritation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.

Yes scrotal dermatitis is a separate entity. It is likely due to stress, depression, irritants, allergy, friction, local drugs/topical .
Please avoid all irritants, or drugs.
Avoid stress.
Wear loose cotton inner wears.
See that there is no friction or irritation.

Fungal infection is a common differential diagnosis for this. You can ask your doctor for scraping test to see for fungal infection.Lamisil is antifungal cream.

With burning sensation, redness, appearance I feel it as scrotal dermatitis.
You can apply topical mild steroid cream in night after consulting your doctor.Steroud cream helps in reducing inflammation. You can use lamisil in morning if found useful or beneficial.

Would this also cause the tip of my penis to be a little red? I just noticed yesterday it turning a little red, it doesn't seem to burn or hurt, but is just a splotchy red when I get blood flow down there.

Brief Answer:
Scrotal dermatitis does not involve penis but fungal infection can involve.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.

Just redness may be due to vascularity.Penis is a highly vascular organ. If associated with symptoms like itching it may be fungal infection.

Fungal infection can involve penis, groins, inguinal folds .
Scrotal dermatitis usually limits to scrotum. It does not involve penis.
Get yourself examined by a doctor and get tested for fungal infection.
