Can Prednisone Cause Red Lines In The Fingernails?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015
Question: I have what appears to be redness in the Lunas of my fingernails....Most notably in the Thumbs and minimally in other fingers- not all of them however.
The lines in the thumbs seem to be tiny blood vessels - Pink
I did take Prednisone for 2 months could that be the cause?

Brief Answer:
Liver function test

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
I would like to know whether your liver function tests were done or not.
If not please get your liver function test with enzymes done and let me know the reports.
Liver problems can also lead to such nails.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.
