Can Ovral And Ovacet Be Taken When Diagnosed With PCOD?
Probably to set cycles on track.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You did not mention if you are trying to conceive. Either way, the medication prescribed to you is to make the cycles get back on to track.
Usually, 2 or 3 courses of oral pills are given before using ovulation induction in the treatment of PCOD. This is to set the cycles on track and also to arrest the growth of ovarian cysts, if any.
Ovacet is a nutritional supplement usually advised as a prenatal vitamin.
If you are trying to conceive, this treatment is followed by induction of ovulation with monitoring.

Usual side effects of any combination pill.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Any combined oral contraceptive pill has side effects like gastro-intestinal disturbances which include nausea, vomiting, gastritis, hepatitis, cardiovascular side effects like thrombosis, coagulation defects, breast tenderness, engorgement, masses, ovarian cysts which occur due to suppression of ovulation etc.
Thus regular monitoring is necessary. Though so many side effects are mentioned, the incidence is less and majority of the users tolerate the doses well.
Hope your query has been answered. Please get back if you need more suggestions. I will be glad to help.
