Can Norflox Tz Be Taken For Stomach Ache With Vomiting?
Question: I was having stomach ache and had one vomit last night after eating food and ice cream after that i check my temperature it was 101 and had 3-4 times stools with stomach ache.
So in the morning i took calpol and norflox TZ and noticed that stools are stopped and fever is also 100 after 4 hours of taking calpol. could you please advice the following:
1)Whether i should take more dose of NORFLOX TZ in case required
2)Calpol is also required to be taken at what intervals.
3)Food that i should avoid including Milk/Curd etc.
Please advice with the details action plan and root cause of the issue.

Antibiotics are either taken for atleast 2 - 3 days or these should not be taken at all. Norflox tz is an antibiotic and is to be taken if there is documented case of bacterial infection. In case of loos motions, antibiotics have specific indications, that is antibiotics are to be taken only in some specific cases like blood in stools, cholera, typhoid (shown in tests), etc.
You seem to be having a viral gastroenteritis. In such a case antibiotics are not needed. You are unnecessarily exposing yourself to them. So you do not need more of antibiotics.
Calpol is for fever. It is to be taken 4 times a day if fever is present.
Regarding food, you can take home-cooked, soft consistency food like khichdi. Take gatorade or electral (made in pure drinking water) after every motion or vomiting. You can avoid any hard or raw food, juices and milk for sometime.
