Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (11 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
montelukast is not supposed to help with that

Detailed Answer:
If you've got an infection, montelukast is not supposed to help with it. It will reduce bronchoconstriction caused by inflammatory substances in patients with asthma.
If an infection is your current problem, then the healing process may vary in duration depending on its severity. If you'd like to provide more details, I'll be glad to comment on them.

Kind Regards!

why is the phlegm so sticky
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
this is common, there is nothing strange about it

Detailed Answer:
The phlegm "stickiness" depends on its composition. More water and less protein content would make it less sticky. As the infection progresses the phlegm usually becomes more sticky because less secretions are produced by the airways. So this is normal.

An increase in the volume and darkening of the phlegm may be a sign of worsening.

Kind Regards!
