Question: Why are Metformin and Repaglinide prescribed to be taken together. Why can't I just take one or the other?

Sir, the combination of two drugs are prescribed when optimal dose of any single drug cannot control your sugar levels. In your case also the same thing is done. That is the combination of these two drugs is better solution than to prescribe high doses of any single drug.

When I take both my blood Sugar levels drop very low -- into the 50s. Is it okay to only take repaglinide?

Yes, you can take only repaglinide

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir, In such case you can take only repaglinide for 2 weeks and check for blood sugar levels.

If the sugar levels are normal, then continue same. If they rise high then you may need a change in dosage. Some other drug we can try. As of now, with such low sugar levels, You take only Repaglinide.
