Brief Answer:
NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is a very careful procedure with no chance of getting an STD or HIV from this. Even if an infection were to be gotten from this procedure, it wouldn't happen just 48hours after this as the duration is so short for any meaningful infection to start and produce symptoms. The irritation during the procedure might be the cause and I will suggest that you monitor only.

I hope this helps. I wish you a speedy recovery. Only seek further attention if the discharge becomes much with an offensive odour.

I have been worrying did she use a probe cover, etc. the discharge was kinda clumpy. U say there is NO chance of getting ANY type of std this way???? If so., why do u said if an infection had been gotten? I haven't had sex in over 6 months., and I was tested for everything 3 months after last sexual encounter even though it was protected.

Brief Answer:
STD are only through sex!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sexually transmitted means only through sex as the germs cannot survive otherwise. It is highly unlikely that you get an STD this way. If a probe cover was not used, know that all these instruments are disinfected after each use and cannot be used without adequate infection prevention measures.

If an infection, it wouldn't be HIV or STD, but really another common germ. This is really very unlikely given our experience with the way vaginal infections are gotten.

I wish you well and feel free to follow up if need be.

Let's monitor a little more!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Let's obtain more information by monitoring few more days before making more conclusions. We may rush and make unfounded conclusions. Keep me posted on this.

Cheers!

( not saying it was., I'd like to know for future reference as well) I am feeling ok., a little uncomfortable down there., i used to feel this after havinfnsex when I was sexually active., so I am wondering if it could be same cuz she did use gel.

Brief Answer:
Towels are single use only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Towels are never used by many patients. They are sterilized after each use and there is really no reason to get worried by this. All is well.

Stay well and be less worried bout these possible infections that keep bugging you!
