default
Posted on Mon, 3 Aug 2015
Question: Sat in a visitation room with a possible hiv client. after visit, my tampon was stuck and I had to stick my fingers very high in my vagina to retrieve it. I'm unsure if I washed my hands and I'm unsure if I came into contact with any of her fluids. (we did mostly paperwork) is there risk and should I be tested?

6 weeks later and I have a white spot on tonsil.

Brief Answer:
The risk is quite low.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
HIV usually not spread with only share a room with someone who is suffering from HIV.
It spread through four body fluids blood, semen, breast milk and vaginal fluids.
So in your case as you did not come in contact with above mentioned body fluids there is no chance of HIV infection.
White spot in tonsil maybe due to fungal infection.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Good luck.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to calcium or food deposition.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
If you are not having sore throat and any other symptoms this white spot can be due to deposits of calcium or food particles.
Warm gargle saline can dislodge it.
