Can HIV Be Contracted Through Protected Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Nov 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,

On the 9th September I received protected oral sex from an escort. The condom was provided by her, I am unsure if it was a latex or a lambskin condom (latex I hope). During the act she masturbated me with her hands and feet. I also lightly fingered her for a short while during which I felt slight vaginal secretions on my fingers, my fingers were clear of sores and cuts. I ejaculated in the condom outside of her mouth during the handjob. After the act I touched the tip of my penis with the same fingers I lightly fingered her with. I did observe dry skin on the scrotum and penis a few days after the act. Currently I am experiencing a cold (nose and chest congestion) and mild flu symptoms. What is the risk of me contracting HIV from this exposure?

Brief Answer:
Risk is very low

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com
This is Dr. Swarnava dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
I have gone through your detailed history and let me tell you that from the above exposure, chances of being HIV infected is very low. I might add that one cannot rule out chances of HIV theoretically but it is very unlikely.
The symptoms you are experiencing are quite nonspecific and can be due to various causes, most of them much more common than HIV.
However, to be completely sure, you can get tested for HIV and it can be ruled out according to reports.
You can consult your family or treating doctor about the above.

Hope i have answered your question.
If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
Regards
