Brief Answer:
You cannot get HIV from touching bathroom surfaces.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

HIV does not live on surfaces for more than a few seconds. If it lived on bathroom surfaces, there would be many people infected for no apparent reason. So there is no reason to worry here. And no need to go back and recheck.

Brief Answer:
Good job.

Detailed Answer:
Good work, XXXXXXX I know it is anxiety provoking to worry that you might pick up HIV, but people don't get it by touching surfaces like that. I know it's hard to fight off the worry, but you are doing good.

Brief Answer:
Your coworker?

Detailed Answer:
Hi -

No, there wouldn't be needles that you would have touched. You are ok with the bathroom situation and can put it out of your mind.

Now about what your worker did, I didn't understand your sentence. What is pilyrposley and can you provide more details about what happened and the cut you sustained?

No like he gave me a five instead of inside the hand he gave me a five on top of my hand and I had a cut should I worry u have the photo

Answered by Dr. Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh (3 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No risk for HIV.

Detailed Answer:
You mean he gave you a five dollar XXXXXXX and it touched the cut on the top of your hand? There is no risk of getting HIV from inanimate objects like paper. That doesn't mean that paper money is clean - it can have other germs that can cause a bacterial infection, but I think this is low risk for that because the wound edges of your cut are closed. But there is absolutely no risk of HIV from this situation.

No he touched the cut u see the photo though
doctor
Answered by Dr. Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh (10 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Won't get HIV from this.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, I looked at the photo. Casual contact would not spread HIV. He would have to have exposed you to fresh blood or it would have had to have been a sexual contact. But you will not get HIV from this interaction, even if you have a cut.
