Can Amlodipine, Clopidogrel, Omeprazole, Glucosamine-HCl And Ramipril Be Taken Together?

Posted on Mon, 27 Jul 2015
Question: I'm on the following medication:
Ramipril 10 mg
Amlodipine (Istin) 5 mg
Lipitor 20 mg
Clopidogrel 75 mg ) for the past year after a minor TIA
Omeprazole 20 mg ) for the past year

I also take Glucosamine HCl 1500 mg
Omega 3 1000 mg
CoQ10 100 mg - to offset the statins

Please can you tell me if any of these medications interact badly? I've just read that Omega 3 can thin the blood and probably shouldn't be taken with the Clopidogrel, but now I'm not sure about the Glucosamine etc either.

Brief Answer:
There are some drug interaction between those you are taking

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.

When taking many drugs there is always the risk of the interaction between them. while glucosamine has no interaction reported with the other drugs you are taking, omega 3 has some serious interaction with clopidogred, reason for which it should be monitored closely.

It might be reasonable to stop taking omega 3, because clopidogrel is much more important, with the risk of their interaction outweighing its benefits.

Regarding other drugs there is no substantial monitoring you should be aware of.

Discuss this mattet also with the doctor that prescribed you the drugs.

Hope this helps. Greetings
