Thanks for you reply.
So if I take 50mg of 5htp twice a week then there wouldn't be chance of serotonin syndrone? I also consume quite a bit of alcohol twice a week, I have no reaction with combo with citalopram, so is it ok to have with 5htp too?

No, it is not safe to mix alcohol with citalopram nor 5HTP. Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant and directly counteracts the antidepressant effects of both citalopram and 5HTP.

I won't take the 5htp at the same time I drink in this case. 50mg once or twice a week will be safe to have with my citalopram, though?

Drinking any amount will directly counteract 5HTP and citalopram both. It is a depressant which counteracts the antidepressant effects. It is not dangerous, but it will make both the 5HTP and citalopram useless.
