Bleeding In Head, Stitches Done, Fever. Whats The Opinion?
Question: My grandson fell and hit his head 3.5 days ago causing a bleeding gash just above eye brow.....took a few stitches and looks like it is healing well. He has done well other than a fever of 101/102 with no other symptons. What are your thoughts?
Hello and thanks for the query.
If the wound is healing well and there is no redness or swelling locally or if there is no discharge from the wound site,then this fever doesn't seem to be related to tne injury and could be just co incidental with the injury.
You may give syrup paracetamol 3/4 Tsf eight hourly for couple of days to him.
He should be alright with this.
If however he doesn't improve in next 48 hours or the fever increases or any other symptom arise,then you must consult your doctor for the treatment.
