Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting your query.

In todays era of stress and fast life females often neglect their health. Due to pressure to perform, their nutrition always suffers. Apart from this after the age of 40 years especially in women when they enter into menopause, there is always deficiency of calcium in their body.

Improper working conditions like bad posture, bad sleeping habits, working habits, increased body weight, etc,. add to the problem. And that is the reason why backache has become so common.

First of all, visit your doctor and please confirm that the reason for back ache is not due to any disease, it is either postural or due to nutritional deficiency. After any disease is ruled out one think of supplements.

Irrespective of the cause, please do following.

1.Watch her weight,if over weight ,try to reduce it first.
2.Ask her to take diet XXXXXXX in calcium like, milk and milk products, pulses XXXXXXX leafy vegetables etc.
3.Ask her to do regular exercise which makes the back muscles strong, this is to be done after advise from your doctor.
4.Watch for working style, proper chair with back support, use of step stool while cooking etc.
5.In case your doctor feels need for calcium supplementation then you can give her calcium tablets on regular basis.

I hope this answers your query. I will be available for follow up.

Regards

Thanks Doctor.

Can you further elaborate what you meant by" after any disease is ruled out"

Is backache symptom of any other problem?
