Are Unequal Size Of The Testicles A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: I'm 40 years old. My left testicle has always hung slightly lower than the right but in the past week I've noticed it is hanging at least an inch lower than usual. Cause for concern? Why would it just start looking like this out of nowhere?

Brief Answer:
Both testis never lie at same level.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Zarrman and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can understand your concern.

Your anxiety isn't anything to worry about.
The left testis hangs lower than the right, in the majority of males.
The two testis never are at the same level.

The reason for their hanging downwards is,the scrotal skin is very elastic and lax.
So the testis hang at different levels,in the scrotal sac.

With temperature variations, the testis may hang lower,or be pulled up.
There's no cause for any alarm.

Hope your anxiety has reduced.
