Are There Are Any Side Effects Of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation?
Question: Dear Doctor, I am having Anxiety and Disorder since childhood. I went to many doctors. Finally I went to Onc doctor in XXXXXXX she has given medicines, cbt, exposure therapy and no use. Finally she want to give 20 sessions Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic stimulation. Each session Rs.1500 for continuous 20 sessions. Kindly tell me whether it is useful and do not have any other side effects. Waiting for your reply please.

RTMS is a new and safe therapy and doesn’t have any significant side-effect, but coming to its efficacy, RTMS has not yet proven itself in XXXXXXX
The improvement in anxiety symptoms occur in very few patients who go ahead with the r-TMS. Instead in comparison, a newer therapy called Ketamine injection is gradually becoming successful in treating resistant depression, anxiety and OCD and may be tried instead. It will be lot cheaper as well.
Do discuss the options about ketamine injections with your treating psychiatrist.
