Question: I am a 58 year old male is very good health. I seem to get tired more frequently. I do not have the same level of energy to exercise. I am sure both of which come with age. Should I invest in male hormone supplements? Are they safe?

Brief Answer:
Investigations needed

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern. At your age, we need to investigate for reasons for feeling tired first before taking supplements. Have you lost any weight? How is your appetite now? What about libido ? Are you sleeping well?

You may need to visit a doctor for an examination first . need following investigations.
1) CBC, ESR
2) Liver and kidney function tests
3) Electrolytes
4) Vitamin B12
5) 8 AM serum cortisol
6) Serum Testosterone ( fasting, between 7 to 9 am)
7) Thyroid blood work
8) Fasting blood glucose
9) Serum PSA
10) urine routine

This may throw some light in to the reason for your tiredness.

Binu
