Herpes is life threatening in only those who are immunosuppressed like AIDS or diabetes patients..it does not have a particulae cure orvaccine but antiviral drugs usually take control of infection and with body immunity the infection get subsided with time but it's an annoying and contageous disease... test can be done one month after exposure.

Episodes of herpes zoster are generally self-limited and resolve without intervention. Therapeutic choices includes NSAIDs; wet dressings with 5% aluminum acetate (Burow solution), applied for 30-60 minutes 4-6 times daily; and lotions (such as calamine).

Thanks for contacting HCM. Unfortunately there really is no treatment to reduce scarring from Herpes Zoster. The lesions will fade with time but not completely clear. Good luck
