Why Would I Feel Facial Flushing And A Sense Of Something Stuck In The Throat While Coughing To Overcome A Heart Flutter?
Thank you. Earlier today I had a heart flutter. I have had them before. It kind of takes by breath away . I intentionally make my self cough. and then it will usually stop. but today, i coughed, i still had the flutter and then my heart felt like it dropped. No chest pain. it was like a boom. then i got flushed in the face. I now feel like my espohogus is trying to swallow something, but i don t have anything to swallow. thought maybe an asprin got stuck. but its not that. I am making myself burp. not sure is this is related. drinking water to see if maybe somthing is stuck but the water goes down fine
Consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated. Detailed evaluation including chest X-ray and sputum study are required for further assessment. You have to start on antibiotics.
You can also take expectorant cough syrups for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
