I am a 63 year old female. In 2015 and beginning 2016, I lost 25 pounds very quickly and also experienced severe pain in my stomach or pancreas area. The doctors thought I might have pancreatic cancer or problems with my intestines. I had blood tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scans, ultra sounds, etc. I also had difficulty swallowing and drooling out the right side of my mouth, as well as some ear pain and headaches on my right side. All tests were negative. The pain subsided for the most part but the other symptoms remained and in addition a lymph gland on the right side of the neck protruded and presses on my carotid artery in my neck. We moved in May 2016 and settled in a new home. I had started gaining weight in April before the move and now in September 2017 have gained 70 pounds. I now weigh more than I ever have. I have always eaten a healthy Mediterranean diet and do not eat potatoes, rice, crackers, etc. My thyroid tests are normal but my doctor has increased my thyroid meds to 50 mg per day. I hurt my hip a year ago and cannot exercise and I suffer from untreated sleep apnea (which I have had for at least 25 years). I still have the swollen lymph node, headaches, ear pain and drooling on the right side and occasional pain on my right side of my stomach Area, which my doctor thinks the pain is from my IBS. My question is why have I gained so much weight when I am not over eating and have decreased my calories since I hurt my hip? What about all of these symptoms on my right side? Any ideas? What can I do about these problems?
