Why Have I Been Having Horrible Toothache And Right-sided Swelling In The Gums, Lymph Nodes And Neck?

Hi, I have been having a horrific toothache. My gums and neck are extremely swollen and my lymph nodes on the right side of my neck are swollen. I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks, it was amoxicillin, and it did nothing. I was also on 800mg of Ibuprofen.

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of tooth decay, dental abscess, trauma, dislocated jaw, arthritis in the temporomandibular joint. Get clinically examined by a dentist, get required blood tests, X-ray, etc., done. You will be treated with pain relieving medication, topical dental pain medication for applying locally like ointment benzocaine. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made, like filling, pulling teeth, or other required procedure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
